Crews from Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC), Musgrove Construction and Bryant Tree Service worked today to assess damage, replace broken poles and clear trees from power lines. Power to some consumers has been restored.

“It’s too early to provide a meaningful estimate of when everyone’s power will be restored, but we’re making progress,” said SVEC, CEO Michael McWaters. “Everything we accomplished today was due to hard work, planning and investment in technology.”

Duke Energy and FP&L have repaired two transmission lines that feed SVEC substations, but four are still out.

For safety reasons, SVEC reminds everyone to stay away from downed power lines and do not attempt to remove vegetation from power lines.
