Bright Ideas – September 2022
September 2022When you think of saving money on energy, the thermostat is probably the first device that you reach for in your home. Remember, the smaller the difference between the temperature inside your home and outside, the lower your electric bill will be.
During warm months, try to keep your home warmer than usual when you’re away and only lower the temperature when you get home. A programmable thermostat can do this automatically so you can stay comfortable and efficient without a second thought.
When you do turn the air conditioning back on, remember not to set your thermostat to a cooler setting than normal. It won’t cool your home any faster and you may end up racking up extra expenses if the temperature gets too cold.
