Job Description

Rapid Fiber Internet*, a subsidiary of Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative, is seeking candidates for the position of Supervisor of Fiber Operations and Quality Assurance. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, five or more years in networking and/or ISPs, and experience in inventory and warehouse management. Applications for this position will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 5.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Inventory procurement, management, and control
  • System troubleshooting and repair coordination
  • Installation Contractor oversight
  • Voice System Contractor interactions
  • Quality assurance level monitoring
  • Installation-related safety protocol compliance

Job Related Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent/GED
  • Five or more years in networking and/or ISPs
  • Experience in Inventory & Warehouse Management

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • AS or BS Degree in IT, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Seven or more years in networking and/or ISPs
  • Demonstrated skills in electronic troubleshooting and repair
  • 6σ Certification in quality assurance and lean processes
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IPv4 and IPv6
  • Experience with Calix equipment and software, including Calix Cloud
  • Knowledge of fiber, XGS-PON, GPON and related technologies
  • VoIP troubleshooting, including latency and jitter management
  • Experience with fiber splicing and optical power meters
