Rate Options

SVEC offers multiple rate options for commercial/non-residential accounts, depending on the size of the load the member wishes to connect to the system.

Non-Demand

General Service (Rate 5) — This rate is for all loads with a demand under 50 kW.

General Service Time-of-Use — This is an optional rate for loads that will be able to manage when they use their electricity to reduce costs. The load will need to be under 100 kW.

For each meter connected, a security deposit of $250.00 or 1.5 times the average or projected one month bill at the billing location, whichever is greater, is required. The amount of security deposit may be adjusted after three months of usage if there is any substantial variance in the estimate from actual usage.

Demand

General Service Demand (Rate 7) — This rate is for larger loads that are above 50 kW and below 500 kW. This rate is a three part rate where the account is charged a facility charge, energy charge, and a demand charge.

General Service Large Demand (Rate 9) — This rate is for larger industrial loads that have a load of 500 kW or more.

For each meter connected, a security deposit of $300.00 or 2.5 times the average or projected one month bill at the billing location, whichever is greater, is required. The amount of security deposit may be adjusted after three months of usage if there is any substantial variance in the estimate from actual usage.

Exemptions

Please be aware of that the State of Florida offers various sales tax exemptions based on what the electricity is being used for. The most common is for agricultural purposes. Please make sure you let SVEC know if you feel your service should be considered sales tax exempt.
