Taking Action on Climate Change Regulations
Environmental Regulations Could Raise your Electric Bill
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed limiting carbon dioxide at new power plants. This is troubling because these regulations, along with the ones EPA has in store for existing power plants, have the potential to drive up your electric bill.
Now is the time for electric cooperative members to join voices and senda clear message: “Please remember consumers as you write these regulations”. You can help by visiting www.action.coop today and sending a comment to the EPA and sharing the link with your friends.
While these regulations are technical, the potential increase in electric rates is something at SVEC we take personally because we know it is difficult to make ends meet month to month. We know the tough choices you face—we all face—in trying to live on a budget. That’s what sets cooperatives apart from other utilities and that’s why we must stick together.
At SVEC, we look out for you. In doing so, we have encouraged all of our employees to sign up and ask their families and friends to do likewise. We ask the same from you. We need you to take a stand and urge your families and friends to join us. It only takes a few seconds to help raise our voices.
Please visit www.action.coop or stop by the office and sign a ‘Take Action Card’. We don’t want these new regulations to get in the way of progress. Please join the call and help us move forward.
