Nine days after Hurricane Idalia’s brief but destructive visit to North Florida, SVEC has restored electric service to all but 550 of its more than 28,000 consumer members who lost power because of the storm.
Most remaining outages involve damaged home electrical equipment that needs to be repaired before service can be safely reconnected. When repairs are complete, homeowners should notify SVEC’s Member Services Department by calling 800-447-4509.
Crews will continue working tonight and over the weekend to reconnect members who can safely receive power.
