Crews from SVEC and its contractors made significant progress today clearing debris and repairing damage to some of the cooperative’s main feeder lines. Repairing feeder lines is a key first step in the power restoration process.
These crews will be assisted by lineworkers who arrived today from Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, Dade City, FL; Pioneer Electric Cooperative, Greenville, AL; Black Warrior Electric Membership Corp., Demopolis, AL; Clarke -Washington Electric Membership Corp., Jackson, AL; Cherokee Electric Co-op, Centre, AL and Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, Prattville, AL.
“Electric cooperatives have a long history of helping each other restore power after storms,” says SVEC’s CEO, Mike McWaters. “We are very fortunate to be part of such a strong mutual aid network.”
