Final Steps of Power Restoration Underway
Following Hurricane Debby, which brought high winds and torrential rains to Florida’s Big Bend region, Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) has restored electric service to 27,473 (99%) of the co-op’s 27,714 consumer-members who lost power due to the storm. Crews continue working to restore members who are still awaiting power and can safely receive it.
A number of the remaining outages are in areas that are inaccessible due to flooding. Additionally, there are cases where home electrical equipment has been damaged and needs to be repaired before power can be restored. Once repairs are completed and homeowners are ready to be reconnected, they should contact SVEC's Member Services Department by calling 800-447-4509.
