Power Restoration Progresses

Power has been restored to over 6,000 out of the 28,848 (20.9%) SVEC consumer-members who lost power on Thursday night due to Hurricane Helene.

Crews are facing challenges due to the large number of trees and limbs entangled with or on top of poles, power lines, and other electrical equipment. This vegetation must be cleared before lineworkers can begin repairs, and tree removal teams are working diligently to create a safe path for restoration efforts.

Twenty-five out of SVEC’s 42 distribution feeders (60%) have now been energized.

Tree debris must often be removed before lineworkers can begin repairs.
Bucket trucks line 129th Rd. in Live Oak while lineworkers repair about a half-mile section of the power line.
