Preparing for Tropical Storm Elsa

Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) has activated its Emergency Response Plan in anticipation of potentially severe weather from Tropical Storm Elsa.

“We’ve incorporated lessons learned from previous storms into our plan, and every employee is ready to fulfill their role in meeting the needs of our members,” said SVEC’s CEO, Michael McWaters. “We are monitoring storm forecasts from multiple weather services, and our statewide association is standing by to help us acquire assistance from other electric cooperatives if needed.”

SVEC encourages its consumer-members to have a plan for riding out extended power outages and reminds them that outages can be quickly and conveniently reported using the cooperative’s SmartHub account management tool, available on our Manage Your Account page. Those who wish to report and track outages from their smartphone or other mobile device can download the SmartHub app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Outages can also be reported by calling (800) 752-0025.
