SVEC Presents Check to United Way

As part of its commitment to the community, SVEC recently presented United Way of Suwannee Valley with a check for $10,916.

The amount of the check included $3,416 in proceeds from the SVEC’s second annual Suwannee Valley Charity Cornhole Tournament, and a $7,500 Sharing Success matching grant from CoBank.

We support the United Way because of their demonstrated ability to manage donated funds wisely and work with their affiliated agencies to improve the quality of life for many people in our community, said SVEC Executive Vice President and CEO, Mike McWaters.

In 2018, SVEC employees contributed $5,049 through payroll deductions which were matched 50 cents to the dollar by the cooperative. Fundraising events at the co-op brought in an additional $3,200 for the United Way.

“We are very grateful for our partnership with SVEC,” said United Way of Suwannee Valley Executive Director Jennifer Anchors. “They and their staff are incredibly giving and committed to our community. The good that they are able to make happen because of their generosity is truly amazing.”
