Michelle C. Lord

Vice President

District 5

Michelle Lord lives in Suwannee County and represents District 5, most of which is located southwest of Live Oak between State Road 51 and U.S. Highway 129 in Suwannee County.

Michelle graduated from the University of Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology concentrating in language acquisition and production. She earned a Master of Social Work from Florida State University focusing on clinical social work. Prior to her marriage, Michelle worked with children 0–3 years old who had developmental delays, providing home-based early intervention services.

Since 1998, Michelle has helped run Lord Farms with her husband, Jackson Lord. She has also been the primary educator of her six children, homeschooling them until high school. Her youngest son, Jonah, is in eighth grade, which is his final year in homeschool. Her fifth child, Jacob, is in his Junior year at SHS. Her four oldest are graduates of Suwannee High School and have all pursued post-secondary degrees: Meredith (Cornell University ‘20); Natalie (Yale University ‘22; Harvard Law School ‘27); Samuel (University of Florida ‘26); and Audrey (Harvard University ‘28).

When Michelle is not homeschooling; cheering her boys on at sporting events; or helping Jackson with the family farm, she volunteers in the community. She serves as President of the Suwannee Academic Boosters and Vice President of the Pregnancy Care Center Board of Directors. She is active in the Catholic Church and has spent several years volunteering in religious education programs. She is currently one of the youth group directors at San Juan de La Cruz Catholic Mission.

Michelle is proud to volunteer with Operation Round Up because she recognizes that teachers often need supplemental support beyond what traditional school budgets can provide to make their classrooms successful.
