From the CEO

Fall 2021

They say fall is best of all, and this quarter has been no exception. Congratulations for achieving over 708 days without a lost-time injury. We’re on pace to meet two out of three 2021 SMORE safety targets, so let’s continue to work safe!

As the weather cools down and community gatherings ramp up, Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) has stayed busy with local outreach. In this issue, we get to look back on these activities and the ways we’ve impacted the communities we serve. Take, for example, our inaugural Suwannee Valley Food Fight, which collected over 3,470 pounds of food for the Florida Gateway Food Bank.

In the Family News portion of this newsletter, you can learn about some of the exciting things that have recently happened in the lives of our co-workers, like babies, vacations, and more.

I hope you’ll take a moment to refresh your knowledge on common “spear phishing” red flags in the Admin/ Cybersecurity portion of our newsletter. Thanks to your diligence, we remain on pace to meet all Admin SMORE targets for 2021.

Lastly, I’d like to remind everyone of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which provides free resources for mental health, marriage, finance, and more at www.theeap.com. Please feel free to contact De Smith with any questions on the program.

Thank you all for a great quarter. Let’s keep up the good work.
