From the CEOSummer 2021
Thank you all for completing another quarter with no lost-time injuries! This accomplishment is a testament to your commitment to working safely every day.
It’s early in storm season, and already our emergency restoration plan and practices have been put to the test by Tropical Storm Elsa. We responded with skill, urgency and tenacity to restore, in only about 24 hours, hundreds of outages affecting nearly 13,000 of our consumer-members. Believe me, your hard work did not go unnoticed. Our trustees were once again impressed by your efforts, and we received 35 emails and 463 social media messages from our consumer-members expressing their appreciation.
Your work during and after the storm was also another example of your commitment to safety. Once again you showed why we have suffered no lost- time injuries since December of 2019. A few more factoids about Elsa and our response to it are included in the Reliability section of this issue. You can also read about multiple opportunities to earn SMORE points by participating in special events we’re holding for the community this fall.
Finally, I invite you to share the joy by checking out the Family News section, where employees share summer vacations, baby announcements, a marriage proposal and more! I hope you all enjoy this issue of Watt’s Up, and I look forward to finding out what experiences await us in the coming weeks.
