“It’s too early to provide a meaningful estimate of when everyone’s power will be restored, but we’re making progress,” said SVEC, CEO Michael McWaters. “Everything we accomplished today was due to hard work, planning and investment in technology.”
Duke Energy and FP&L have repaired two transmission lines that feed SVEC substations, but four are still out.
For safety reasons, SVEC reminds everyone to stay away from downed power lines and do not attempt to remove vegetation from power lines.
