SVEC has activated its Emergency Restoration Plan at 4:00 yesterday, in preparation for wide-spread outages that could be caused by Hurricane Idalia.
We are closely monitoring storm forecasts from multiple weather services and all of our employees are ready to work long hours to meet the needs of our consumer-members. The co-op has also arranged for contractor help with restoring power, and our statewide association is standing by to help us acquire assistance from other electric cooperatives if needed.
We encourage everyone to have a plan for riding out extended outages, and those of you who rely on life-supporting medical equipment should be ready to go to a location that has power, in the event that the power to your home goes out.

If you experience a power outage, report it by:
Our outage management system uses caller ID technology to quickly identify your service location by your phone number. This makes reporting easier for you and allows us to speed up response and restoration time So, always make sure we have your current phone number before you text or phone in your outage.
