Mutual Aid and Safety During Hurricane Michael

SVEC continues to prepare for Hurricane Michael and its anticipated wide-spread power outages. We have mutual aid from cooperatives in Florida and neighboring states standing by to help, and our crews are prepared to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

The safety of our co-op employees and members is our first priority. Please do not touch a downed power line or attempt to remove vegetation that is in contact with a power line, as it may be energized. Outages can be quickly and conveniently reported using SVEC’s SmartHub mobile app or by calling 800-752-0025.

If you rely on life-supporting medical equipment, it is strongly recommended to go to a location that has power until power is restored to your residence. Contact your county sheriff’s office or emergency management department for shelter locations.
