Power Restoration at 82%. Work Continues Today.

Crews were out late last night and early this morning to restore power to our consumers who lost power due to the Winter storm. As of 7:00 a.m., 82% of SVEC’s consumers had power. Nearly 18,000 consumers who lost power due to the storm have been restored.

Our guys worked through some difficult conditions yesterday to get as many people on as possible, in the shortest amount of time. Today, they’re going after the remaining smaller outages that are spread throughout our territory. The 202 outages restored yesterday affected 87 consumers each, on average. In comparison, the 374 remaining outages affect about 13 consumers on average.

We are very grateful for the help we are getting from our contractors and fellow co-ops. Ninety men are in the field today representing SVEC, Central Florida Electric Cooperative, Talquin Electric Cooperative, Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Bryant Tree Service, and Musgrove Construction.
