Giving Blood Saves Lives

The LifeSouth bloodmobile visits Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) every three months.

In 2020, SVEC employees donated 58 units of blood. According to LifeSouth, each unit of blood can save up to three lives. Since 2004, SVEC employees have donated 691 units of blood, meaning our employees’ donations may have saved up to 2,073 lives!

Start your Engines!

SVEC is hosting a pit stop at the 22nd Annual Arc North Florida Lawn Mower Race, where racers must see how fast they can thread nuts onto a bolt while wearing thick, rubber, lineman gloves. Proceeds go to fund Arc’s support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • The entry fee is $125 for individual racers, $250 for a team of four.

  • Day-of-event registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the race begins at 10 a.m.

SVEC is entering the Rotary Club of Branford’s annual golf tournament, with proceeds going to support programs including the annual rotary scholarships. Register today and see if you have what it takes to beat Team SVEC!

Saturday, March 6, at 8 a.m. at Quail Heights Country Club, Lake City. The $50 player entry fee includes cart, green fees, lunch, and door prizes.
