Purpose
SVEC has announced its plan to build a fiber-optic network across the co-op’s service territory. The network will be used to deliver 100% fiber to the home high-speed internet service to SVEC’s consumer-members through the cooperative’s newly formed subsidiary, Rapid Fiber Internet, LLC.
While Government grants are available to help defray the cost of building internet infrastructure, funds are limited and applicants who can best demonstrate strong consumer/community support will have an edge in the competition for grants.
Therefore, we have created an online petition at iPetitions.com as a way for you to support SVEC’s project and urge grant administrators to do so as well. Providing your street address with the petition is optional but would be especially helpful. Because the petition pertains to an issue affecting our specific area, addresses will lend legitimacy to the names on the petition and clearly demonstrate local support.
