For the second year in a row, Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) has contributed $5,000 to United Way of Suwannee Valley through the efforts of its employees and a matching grant from CoBank. SVEC qualified for CoBank’s $5,000 grant by raising $6,027 for the United Way during the cooperative’s annual employee giving campaign.
Scammers are calling Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) members, pretending to be from a collection agency acting on behalf of the co-op. The scammers threaten to disconnect electric service unless they are given personal information, such as a bank account number, or paid with a credit or debit card.
SVEC has awarded 10 scholarships, each worth $750, to outstanding high school seniors from across its service area.
